In times past people had libraries of books in there home encyclopedias, dictionaries, medical books, cook books all the information they needed for daily life was housed in those books. Those days are over. When people seek information now they turn to one simple source the internet. Rather than flipping through thousands of pages in huge books they click and browse until they find whatever information they need.

Because information is what people seek, making information available will draw traffic to your site. So no matter type of product you are selling or promoting, make information part of your merchandise and you will see an increase in viewers.

Although it is an option, it is not necessary to sell the information you offer. It can be just as profitable to you to use it simply as a lure to get people to view your site. You can offer on line courses, give special reports and other information that people are seeking.

A special report is a smaller than an e-book, usually about 10 15 pages; these can be written rather quickly and work great as a marketing tool. Think about the things you have for sell, or the items you are an affiliate for. Pick a group of complimentary items and write a special report around them. For instance, if you sell cosmetics, create a special report about quick and easy summer beauty fixes. Advertise your own products within the report.

Write your report in a way that is especially appeals to your target audience. For example if you promote or are an affiliate for companies who promote skin care products write an article on women's health. In your article include a paragraph on the importance of healthy skin and include a link to your affiliates that will direct your readers to good skin care products.

Simply offer one of these reports as a free gift for subscribing to your newsletter or other mailing list. Your subscribers will love the fact that they are getting something for free, and you will love the fact that your mailing list is growing.

You can also charge a fee for the information you are using to drive traffic to your site. For instance, if you have a website that focuses on helping other people start a home business, you may choose to have a subscription-based newsletter. You can fill this newsletter with affiliate links for various products; endorse your own information products, and various joint ventures.

Everyone wants to be informed. If you make yourself an expert on a subject and provide them with reliable information they can trust, they will continue to visit your site and will in turn buy your product.
